NicoleNicole Clifford

Nicole is taking part in the Parramatta MDC in 2012. She says, "Breast cancer is something that has touched our family. My mother Joan, Aunty Sandra and Grandmother Jessie all had breast cancer and all gave it a run for its money. Mum is a survivor, although she is a survivor, a side effort of the treatment is lymphedema and she wear a full length sleeve on her arm everyday to keep it under control. Jessie was a survivor and Sandra was a warrier. She battled breast cancer and the secondaries for over 20 years. She always believed that she would beat it. Never did she give up.

"We also have three friends who had cancer at a very young age. Karen, Mel and Sandra. Thankfully they are all survivors.

"We will be running for these six people."

Roslyn and Felicity

Roslyn and Felicity  are taking part in the Melbourne event this year and this is what they have to say, "This year will be our fifth year of participation in the Mothers Day Classic. Last year, due to your generous donations, we raised over $6,700 taking our collective total to $23,200. We were thrilled when
advised we had been nominated as "Classic Pink Fundraisers" due to the amount raised.

The Mothers Day Classic is a cause we are both passionate about. Many of our close friends, family, and colleagues have been affected by breast cancer.
To walk the 8km is the easy part however fund-raising is a little more difficult and so here we are again giving you a gentle tap on the shoulder
in the hope you will sponsor us by making a donation towards breast cancer research."

Lindsay Mullins

Please!!! Sponsor me as I participate in my 10th MDC in Melbourne, as I continue to raise funds for research into preventing Breast Cancer. It is absolutely critical that the momentum
that has been gathered over the last 15 years of MDC continues. Every dollar raised gets us closer to that point when we can say, through the MDC and the wonderful efforts of the
National Breast Cancer Foundation, that a breakthrough has occurred and research has found a cure. As this journey continues, I will remain vigilent in making other people aware of the
importance of early diagnosis and regular self examination.

Naomi Simpson

"Three weeks after I turned 33, in March 2011, I was diagnosed with aggressive, Grade 3, Stage III Breast Cancer. Four days later I celebrated my youngest, Eva, turning one. Diagnosed on a Tuesday, mastectomy and lymph node removal within the week ..... and 6 rounds of chemo [that started within the month of surgery] and radiation after chemo (5 weeks, every day). I received the most amazing support from family, the inlaws (outlaws!), friends, my local school community, sports team mums from over the years, neighbours and even some school mums I didnt know at the time!! I cannot thank them all enough...XXXXXXX"

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Louise Davidson

"As many of you know, I was involved in starting the Mother's Day Classic 15 years ago, in memory of my mother Kaye. My mum died from breast cancer when she was only 52. In the years that have passed, the detection and treatment of breast cancer have improved immeasurably, and I know that the money we have raised through the Mother's Day Classic has been a part of the significant improvements that have been made. But there is still a lot to be done - research is needed into the causes of breast cancer, and into more sophisitcated treatments, as well as into ways of improving quality of life for breast cancer survivors. And hopefully one day even a cure."

Sheree McLeod

I am so happy to be well enough to participate in this worthy cause this year of the "Mother's Day Classic". As you know I was fighting Breast Cancer in 2011 and more research is needed for my rare Triple Negative Diagnosis (ie: not hormone triggered). All of the other hormone cancers have further treatment to continue with, but unfortunately at this stage I have no safety Net of further treatment. Please support such a worthy cause as I take part in the Mother's Day Classic, raising funds for breast cancer research.
