Mother's Day Classic registration is now open

Walk/run for breast cancer research on Sunday 9 May 2010

Mother's Day Classic patron, the Governor-General, Quentin Bryce AC
announced the opening of registrations for the 2010 Mother's Day Classic
today, at a special ceremony held in Sydney.

This year’s event takes place on Sunday 9 May 2010 in Adelaide, Brisbane,
Canberra, Geelong, Gold Coast, Hobart, Melbourne, Parramatta, Perth,
Sydney and regional locations across Australia.

Last year, your participation and fundraising efforts led to a record annual
amount of $1.3 million raised for the National Breast Cancer Foundation's
research programs.  With your support we could set a new record in 2010.

Volunteer

If running and walking isn’t your thing – then come along and help out on the day.  We rely on more than 1,500 volunteers across the country so we welcome your support at each event.  It’s a fun way to be a part of this special day.  Click here to find out more information and volunteer online.

Fundraising

Once you have chosen your event and registered online, then you can also help raise extra funds for breast cancer research by setting up a fundraising page and getting family, friends and colleagues to sponsor your walk or run.

The highest fundraiser in each state wins a special prize from Qantas of $1,000 in domestic flights.

Last year, the Mother's Day Classic highest fundraiser Michelle Ward, from South Australia raised $12,000.  She was part of team of more than 100 people from UniSA Team Susan, who took part to show support for their colleague Susan who was diagnosed with breast cancer and going through treatment in 2009.

Go to fundraising online and start your own page.  Then get family, friends and colleagues to support you in your walk or run.
