Thanks for coming! The MDC community came out in full force, and we will ensure everyone who registered will get a medallion.

You can use this page from the shop to order your medallion(s) at no cost and they will be mailed out when available.


EVENT INFORMATION

Where: Phillip Precinct, The Domain – Royal Botanic Garden Sydney

The Domain Sydney is a 34 hectare, heritage listed area of open space located only 5 mins from the heart of the Sydney CBD.

The course will take participants past attractions including the Art Gallery of New South Wales, Andrew Boyd Charlton pool and Mrs Macquarie's Chair.

When: Sunday 14th May, 2023

7:00am Run 5km 
7:45am Run 10km
8:30am Stronger Together Walk 5km & 10km
8:32am Walk 5km
8:32am Walk 10km

Runners are split into 4 self-seeded start groups, A, B, C, D with "A" Group being the fastest and "D" being the slowest.

5km Run

Start Group A - Fast Runners < 24mins

Start Group B - Moderate Runners < 30mins

Start Group C - Slower Runners < 35mins

Start Group D - Joggers < 43mins

10km Run

Start Group A - Fast Runners < 45mins

Start Group B - Moderate Runners < 60mins

Start Group C - Slower Runners < 75mins

Start Group D - Joggers < 90mins

Stronger Together: If you have been touched by breast cancer, join a ‘Stronger Together’ time, when we will reflect on the strength of our MDC community (formerly named Survivor Wave).

Accessibility: It is recommended that slow runners, walkers and those participating with wheelchairs and prams assemble at the rear of their start group. Elite wheelchair participants should self-seed and assemble based on their expected speed.

Race Bib collection:

If you did not select to have your Race Bib posted and/or you registered after 19 April 2023, you will be able to collect your Race Bib prior to event day at the event site.

Opposite Sydney Hospital, Hospital Road.

  • Friday 12 May: 12:00pm – 6:00pm
  • Saturday 13 May: 8:00am – 4:00pm

Event Day Race Bib Collection and/or New Registrations on Site

  • Sunday 14 May: from 6:00am

We suggest that you arrive at least 1 hour prior to your event start time to allow for race bib collection and /or new registration and race bib allocation.

Getting there, parking & road closures

Parking
Parking is available at Wilson Parking the Domain Car Park. Please refer to local maps for specific details.

Public transport

By Train:

The nearest station is Martin Place (T4 – Eastern Suburbs and Illawarra/ South Coast Line) and is approximately 300m walk to the MDC Start Area & Village

St James Station which services the T8 – Airport Line, the T2 & T3 – Inner West Lines is also a short walk of approximately 400m to the MDC Start Area and Village.

By Bus:

Travelling by bus to the Royal Botanic Garden is also easy with most major Bus routes using nearby CBD bus stops along Elizabeth St, Macquarie St Park and William Streets. 

It is then a short walk to the Event Site.

Noting the road closures on Macquarie St will affect bus stops between Hunter Street and St James Place.

By Ferry

All Ferries terminate at Circular Quay and participants can then take a short 1km walk from Circular Quay, south along Macquarie St to the Event Site.

Road Closures

Sydney CBD Roads Affected on Sunday 14 May 2023

  • 5AM to 12PM - Art Gallery Rd/Mrs Macquarie's Rd from Prince Albert Rd and Hospital Rd. Access to Hospital Rd is via Shakespeare Pl only in both directions.
  • 6AM to 10AM - Macquarie St between St James Rd and Hunter St, College St between Park St and Prince Albert Rd and sections of St James Rd, Prince Albert Rd, St Mary's Rd and Yurong Pkwy will be closed.

Special event clearways will be in effect from 5AM to 10AM on sections of Macquarie St, Hunter St, College St, St Mary's Rd and St James Rd. Clearways will also be in effect on sections of Prince Albert Rd and Hospital Rd from 5AM to 12PM midday.

Clearways are strict no-parking zones even for local residents and Mobility Scheme Permit holders. Check signs carefully as vehicles left in clearways will be towed and a fee applies.

Mother's Day is traditionally one of the busiest days on the roads. Wherever you are travelling, expect it to take longer than usual and factor in extra travel time.
