I'm putting my foot down to stop breast cancer in its tracks!

For the strongest women I know.

Since my Yiayia's breast cancer diagnosis in 2017 my family and I have been running to support breast cancer research and treatment. We were lucky enough to witness Yiayia's resilience, grace and grit as she emerged victorious, well and truely kicking cancer's butt. It also provided us with a profound awareness that many women remain in this battle and not all are as fortunate. So, we continue our stride and keep running.

At the beginning of this year, my other grandmother faced her own battle and underwent surgery to remove a tumour from her breast. It was a stark reminder that cancer doesn't discriminate, that it can touch anyone, regardless of strength or spirit.

Thanks to the treatments they received and the medical professionals, tirelessly working to heal and support, I still have these remarkable women in my life. And so, I've realised while well-intentioned, my personal efforts and pocket change aren't cutting it anymore and are just drops in the ocean.

This Mother's Day, I'm setting a new goal: to raise at least $500. Because I've seen the difference that research, treatment, and support can make.
