Support my efforts in the 2024 Mother’s Day Classic!

On Sunday 12 May, I'm running in the Mother's Day Classic to raise money for the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

This will be my 26th year and I remember that first year pushing Lachie around the Melbourne course in a pram.

Since that time, the Mother's Day Classic has been a big event for all of us.  Lachie and Eliza have run or volunteered wherever they are (Melbourne, Darwin, Hobart, Somers, Chelsea) and Mark (who is a former Ambassador for the NBCF) and Laura (a speaker for the NBCF) have become involved too.

This event is important to us because we lost my best friend Macca to Breast Cancer in the early 2000's.  Since that time we have known many others - including a number of our Pink Ribbon Breakfast Team volunteers - that have been impacted.  Mark and Laura lost Anni 2007 and they have both supported the NBCF fundraising events in multiple capacities.  (You may not know that Mark and I met at the Flemington Pink Ribbon Breakfast in 2014 when he was the guest speaker and spoke about the impact on families and the importance of early detection.)

The money raised from community events for the NBCF to fund research has made a massive and observable difference to the treatment and outcomes for many wonderful women.  

This is our way of trying to improve the lives of everyone - women and men and their families - impacted by breast cancer and why I would appreciate your support.
