On Sunday 12 May, I'm putting my foot down to save lives. I'll be lacing up my running shoes and taking a step forward for women's cancer research, and I'd really love your support!
I’m joining the Mother’s Day Classic to help raise funds and awareness to fight breast and ovarian cancers. Â
My Mum, pictured above after watching the 2011 event at Southbank, had her own battle with cancer. It wasn't breast or ovarian cancer, but she was a big believer in research. In her own struggle, she signed up to then experimental, now normal, treatments and many retreatment trials. She knew from her own experience that research in one area could help in other endeavours. Â
She attended to watch me in the first Mother's Day Classic in Brisbane and every event until the year before she passed.
I keep participating to raise funds for this worthy cause, and in her memory.
