Supporting Breast Cancer Research
Erin's Story - A Journey of Strength and Hope

Our team 'RIOT (running is our therapy) RunClub and co.' is participating in the Mother's Day Classic, Sunday 11 May!
Together, we'll be lacing up our running shoes and taking a step forward for women's cancer research, and we'd really love your support!
We're walking the talk and joining the Mother’s Day Classic to help raise funds and awareness to fight breast cancer.
Tragically, every day in Australia 63 people diagnosed and 12 lose their lives to breast or ovarian cancer.
-Erin's Story-
"I'm so sorry, it's cancer." Words no one wants to hear, yet Erin faced them just weeks after getting engaged and on the cusp of her 35th birthday. Diagnosed with Triple Positive Breast Cancer with lymph node involvement, Erin braced herself for the toughest fight of her life.
Determined to stay strong for her family, Erin embarked on a relentless journey—fertility treatments to preserve her future, chemotherapy to shrink the tumors, and surgery to remove the cancer. Chemo brought exhaustion and hair loss, but also hope, as scans revealed shrinking tumors and normal lymph nodes. Surgery followed, then 25 rounds of radiation, each step a victory toward healing.
Through it all, Erin leaned on the unwavering support of her loved ones and work family. Her community rallied, organising fundraisers, pop-up markets, and a GoFundMe to help with the costs of treatment and IVF.
Despite the grueling battle, Erin found joy in the little moments—snuggles with her beautiful daughter Emilia, quality time with her family and friends, the most supportive life partner Justin, glitter photoshoots, and completing her first Mother’s Day Classic just ten days after treatment. Crossing the finish line surrounded by friends and family was a testament to her resilience.
Erin’s message is clear: early detection saves lives. "Check your boobs—mine tried to kill me, but I won’t go down that easy. I’ve got too much to live for."
Her journey isn’t over, but with each step forward, she’s bringing awareness and hope to others.
