Supporting Breast Cancer Research

I'm putting my foot down to stop breast cancer in its tracks!

Support my efforts in the 2024 Mother’s Day Classic!

On Sunday 12 May, I'm putting my foot down to save lives.

I'll be lacing up my running shoes and taking a step forward for women's cancer research, and I'd really love your support!

On Mother’s Day last year I was completely oblivious as to what my body was about to go through, on the 11th of May I found a pea size lump I thought it felt strange but after all I was 27 and what were my chances.. after a week went by I decided to go get it checked out and straight away my doctor said ‘it felt ugly’ so I was sent off for an ultrasound that came back suspicious malignant and it was from that moment I knew I had cancer I was then sent off for further testing which confirmed the diagnosis of breast cancer from that moment I put my gloves on and I was ready for the biggest fight of my life and I was going to give it my all and that’s just what I did.

5 biopsies, mris, ct scans, pet scans, lumpectomy, 4 rounds of ac chemo, 8 rounds of paclitaxel, to many hospital admissions to count, endless blood tests, double mastectomy and reconstruction, auxiliary clearance followed by zoladex injections every 28 days to suppress hormones, hormones blockers daily, bone infusions every 6 months all for the next 7 years and here I am today standing tall and getting my life back.

Mother’s Day this year hits differently and gives me a whole new meaning, I am 1 in 7 effected by this horrible disease but I’m not just a statistic I’m a Mum, Wife, Daughter, Granddaughter, Sister and Aunty. On Sunday the 12th of May I will be walking the Mother’s Day classic at 10.10am I would love for you to join me or even make a small donation to ensure treatments keep continuing to evolve in hope that one day there will be a cure.
