Support my efforts in the 2025 Mother's Day Classic!
On Sunday 11 May, I'm putting my foot down to save lives.
Kiel, Aurora and I are joining the Mother’s Day Classic to help raise funds and awareness to fight breast and ovarian cancers.
In September 2024, at the age of 39, I was diagnosed with hormone receptor positive breast cancer in addition to ductal carcinoma in situ. After an initial lumpectomy, I underwent a double mastectomy with an immediate DIEP reconstruction using my tummy as the donor site. Having battled cancer before, undergoing a double mastectomy wasn’t a complicated decision for me, although it was an incredibly difficult surgery and long recovery process both physically and mentally. I have 10 years of endocrine therapy ahead (and probably a revision surgery or two) but the horizon is looking good, the same cannot be said for many others.
Tragically, every day in Australia 63 people diagnosed and 12 lose their lives to breast or ovarian cancer.
